The McAlester Area Chamber staff is a dedicated team committed to serving and supporting our local business community. They work behind the scenes to plan events, advocate for members, and create opportunities that foster growth and connection. With a focus on service and community impact, the staff helps bring the Chamber’s mission to life each day.

Laura Watkins

President/CEO

Laura Watkins is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the McAlester Area Chamber of Commerce. She brings more than 15 years of leadership experience in business development and client engagement. Laura and her family moved to McAlester in 2022 and have been active members of the community.

In this role, Laura directs the Chamber’s strategic vision, strengthens local business networks, and champions initiatives that drive regional economic growth. She works closely with civic leaders, entrepreneurs, and corporate executives to foster a vibrant, inclusive business climate.

Laura holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a Master of Business Administration from Oklahoma State University. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, gardening, and spending time with her husband, Ben, and their two children, Alexandra and Bohanan.
